Classroom Management and Student Behavior

March Madness is among us…are you ready? There is no reason to let the month of March drag you down! Behavior may be in full swing, but you can get a handle on classroom management and student behavior by changing things up a bit!

Class Management

Use this FREE Reading challenge to get them focused on something new and different to do! Just like the basketball team match up against each other, place books together to decide which book is a class favorite!! I have a fun reading challenge to get your students ready and this unit is FREE in my TpT Store!!!

The brackets are left blank so you can write the books you are reading in your class onto the bracket pages. Some years I fill it in with read alouds and other years I let them pick their own individual books.

Strategies for Behavior Management

Doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results is the definition of INSANITY! Save your sanity by changing things up this Spring! Have you seen the latest research pennants – they are for Women’s History Month!

You can easily implement research pennants in your classroom and knock out a few writing standards at the same time. Click here to preview the whole set of research pennants.

This unit includes a few ELA activities as well as 2 sheets of tickets out the door! I love having these printed and ready on my desk (just in case of my teacher evaluation!)!!!

Our Media Specialist always needs to teach a lesson on researching in the library and this was the perfect way to collaborate! Each student picks a woman to research and uses the flipbook to gather information. (They also used their spiral notebooks to gather information). Included are two additional research pages that can be used to take a grade.

Students in Classroom

Don’t let students run the classroom! Stay prepared to maintain control of student behavior by being ready for anything that may come your way! Spring is a chance to mix things up with Leprechauns and wear GREEN! Don’t forget to wear green on St. Patty’s Day, March 17th!! This unit has a text feature page and is SUPER fun for the day!
