Mercy Watson Princess in Disguise Activities

Teaching Mercy Watson Princess in Disguise during Halloween can be an exciting and engaging experience for both teachers and students. There are so many activities to incorporate from each of my units. Mercy Watson Princess in Disguise Activities. A great strategy is to encourage creative writing and storytelling. Students can write their own stories featuring Mercy Watson or create their own characters and storylines inspired by the book.

To teach this unit, I made multiple PDf’s to help students develop their writing and storytelling skills. I really wanted them to be able to focus on creativity. I would have students share their stories with the class, encouraging discussion and feedback.

In the book, The Watsons decide to dress Mercy up as a princess for Halloween. Other suggestions for Mercy’s costume were robot, pirate, witch, and pumpkin. It would be super cute to have them draw each of her costume suggestions.

Engaging students in discussions about character traits and relationships in the book is another effective strategy for teaching this Princess in Disguise. Teachers can lead discussions about the different characters in the book, encouraging students to analyze their personalities and motivations. Additionally, students can explore the relationships between characters, such as the relationship between Mercy and the Watson family. This can help students develop their critical thinking skills while also deepening their understanding of the book.

Writing is a great way to incorporate R.L.3.6: Where students should be able to distinguish their own point of view from that of the narrator or those of the characters. Incorporating these strategies into your lesson plans makes learning fun and engaging while also promoting their intellectual growth.
